I'm visiting from Lisbon next month and a friend in Pinheiros told me to expect around R$45 for a craft beer at a bar. That seems steep to me, is that just the tourist markup or what people actually pay in 2026? I don't mind paying for a good spot but I'd like to know if I'm being taken for a ride.

R$45 is on the high end but not crazy for a craft pint in Pinheiros in 2026, though a chopp at a regular bar runs closer to R$15 to R$20.

Just check the menu before you sit down, prices vary a lot by neighborhood.

Is R$45 for a beer in Sao Paulo normal in 2026?
