I'm visiting Sao Paulo next month and Novo Sabor is on my list for dinner. Is that stretch fine to walk around after 10pm or should I just grab a cab back to my hotel? Which nearby streets should I avoid late?

Novo Sabor's more of a lunch spot anyway.

Rua Augusta's the one to watch, not the side streets.

If you're heading back toward Consolação, that stretch stays lit and busy enough to walk.

honestly this gets asked every other week. no area in SP is a blanket "safe after 10pm", it depends on the exact block and whether it's a bar street or a quiet residential stretch. just take the cab back, it's cheap and you won't have to think about it. avoid empty side streets off the main drag, those are teh ones that feel sketchy at night.
