Which residence permit should I be applying for, and what documents do they actually want? I've heard the consulate and the federal police here ask for different things and it's easy to get stuck in the wrong queue.

Get your CPF sorted early, it's needed for almost everything including the bank account your employer will want. Also check if your contract needs registering with the MTE, that step trips people up. Bring more passport photos than you think you need.

arrow_drop_up 6 arrow_drop_down

yeah the MTE registration thing is real, your employer handles it but chase them on it. also keep a few printed copies of everything, the PF desk in SP sometimes wants paper even when you booked online

tbh the visa type depends on your contract, VITEM V if it's a proper employment relationship vs a tech visa if your company sponsors you through a Brazilian entity. the consulate wants the apostilled docs up front, but the Polícia Federal appointment in SP is where they check your CRNM application and proof of address. Estanplaza can issue a declaração de hospedagem, ask the front desk early bc they're slow about it.

Not VITEM V, check the RN 02/2017 update first

RN 02 got replaced by RN 08 in 2023 i think

Sao Paulo restaurant price check 2026

fmd_goodNovo Sabor · #restaurant #meal #price
I'm visiting from abroad and got quoted 120 reais for a meal at Novo Sabor. Is that a normal price around here or am I being overcharged as a tourist? novo sabor isnt really a place i know tbh, but 120 sounds like the tourist menu price. ask to see the regular menu, sometimes they hand foreigners a different one. also check google reviews in portuguese, locals usually post the real prices there

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

120 is steep for a normal plate but not crazy if its a nicer sit down spot with service charge included. check if the 10% gorjeta is already on there, that changes the math. i paid closer to 60-80 at similar places when i visited, so maybe look around before committing

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

yeah the gorjeta thing is key, ask if the 120 is com ou sem o servico because that 10% swings it a lot

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

the 60-80 range tracks for a por kilo or lanchonete, but a full sit down with waiter is usually past 100 now ngl
