It's on Rua Augusta in Consolacao, and weekday lunch is way easier to walk into than dinner.

Good call on lunch, dinner there gets packed. I'd still ring ahead even for midday tho, last time I tried walking in around 1pm they were full.

Book ahead, weekends fill up fast.

arrow_drop_up 0 arrow_drop_down

yeah def, and grab a slot like a week out not day before

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

honestly even a week out can be tight for ifoof, I'd try closer to two if u can

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

Two weeks out is safer, and weekday lunch walk-ins still work if you show up right at noon.

Agreed, and keep in mind the place is small so a week out might already be too late for a Friday or Saturday.

Are there walk-in clinics near the Catedral da Sé area that take foreign insurance, or is it easier to pay out of pocket at a private practice? A rough idea of what a consultation costs in 2026 would help me plan.

Skip the Catedral da Sé area entirely and try Hospital das Clínicas' pronto-socorro, though a dermatologist there needs a referral.

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

Some of those pronto-socorros only see actual emergencies, so you might get turned away. A referral for a specialist there can take weeks anyway.

hc has a dermatology outpatient wing on the third floor, no referral for first visit

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

private consulta runs maybe 400 to 700 reais in 2026, dermatologist toward the higher end. foreign insurance is hit or miss downtown, most clinics want cash or pix upfront. look near av paulista or vila mariana rather than right by se, more english speaking

Ambulatório route, but bring your passport.
