Novo Sabor sits near Rua Augusta so you're spoiled for choice. I'd walk ten minutes to A Casa do Porco, though booking ahead matters. On cards, most places take them fine but many run purchases as credit only, so ask for debito if your bank charges per swipe.

Pix beats both if your bank supports it.

Agreed, though not every foreign card links to it cleanly. Ask your bank about the CPF requirement before you rely on it, otherwise you'll be stuck with the swipe fee anyway.

Worth noting Pix only works with a Brazilian bank account or CPF linked to a wallet, so tourists usually can't use it.

I'm in Sao Paulo for a few days and staying near CSa. Any good bars around there for a beer and some food, nothing too fancy? I'm in Sao Paulo for a few days and staying near CSa. Any good bars around there for a beer and some food, nothing too fancy?

If you're up for a short walk, Boteco Seu Justino near praça Roosevelt does solid bolinhos and cold beer without the Paulista markup. Gets busy after 9 so grab a table early.

not sure what csa refers to exactly but if u mean consolacao, bar do biu on rua da consolacao does cheap chopp & pasteis till late. i'd skip the spots right on paulista, overpriced for what u get. walk a block or two off the main drag & prices drop fast

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

yeah the side streets off consolacao are where its at, try rua antonio carlos for botecos with actual chairs and a decent prato do dia.
