Is ifoof in Sao Paulo safe to walk to at night in 2026?

Which streets around there are fine after dark and which should I avoid? Also wondering if it's better to just take a rideshare back instead of walking.

Rideshare back, Rua Augusta gets sketchy past midnight.

Agree, though 9pm is usually still fine there.

Past midnight the side streets off Augusta toward Reboucas are the real problem, not the avenue itself.

The stretch near Praca Roosevelt, that's where it turns.

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Fair point, but the stretch by Rua Matias Aires gets dodgy closer to 11 than midnight.

Just grab a cab if you're out after eleven.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Yeah, I'd say past eleven it thins out fast around there. The stretch closer to Paulista tends to feel calmer than the blocks lower down.

arrow_drop_up -1 arrow_drop_down

Depends on which end, lower down is worse.

arrow_drop_up 0 arrow_drop_down

Walking down Rua da Consolacao is fine at that hour, but cut over on alameda Santos rather than the side streets.

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

Alameda Santos works but cut back to Augusta only at the big corner, not mid-block where its dark.

What's the coffee and breakfast situation around there, and is the cafe itself worth a stop or should I walk a few blocks for something better?
