I've had solid work done at Bangkok International Dental Center (BIDC) in Thong Lo, their pricing is transparent and they handle nervous patients well. For something cheaper but still reliable, check out Thantakit Dental on Silom Road, it's been around for decades and the older dentists there really know their craft. Both have English-speaking staff and websites you can book through, just avoid the tourist-trap places near Sukhumvit Soi 4 that quote you one price on the phone and double it at the chair.

Another option that hasn't been mentioned is BIDH, the Bangkok International Dental Hospital on Rama 9, near the MRT. It's a proper hospital setup with specialists for everything from implants to root canals, and the equipment is newer than what you'll find at most smaller clinics. Prices sit a bit above the mid-range clinics but below the luxury ones, and they have an English site with a full fee schedule. If you're planning something complex like a crown or an implant, it's worth paying the small premium to have a specialist rather than a general dentist handling it.

For something more neighborhood-level, I'd also throw in Dental 88 on Sukhumvit 26, it's tucked behind the Emporium and sees a lot of expat families. Dr. Somchai there is old school, doesn't do the fancy 3D scans but his fillings and cleanings are rock solid, and he'll tell you straight if something can wait another year. Booking is just a phone call, no website to fuss with, which fits some people better. Just note they're closed on Sundays, so plan around that.

You could try DentaJoy on Soi Sukhumvit 31, it's a smaller clinic but Dr. Ann is really careful and speaks perfect English. They don't have the flashiest website but you can message them on Line and they'll give you a quote right away, and I've never had them try to upsell me on stuff I didn't need.

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
