honestly the guide nails it but i think it misses how good the street food scene is around these nightlife spots. like after a few drinks at saxophone pub, walk over to the soi rangnam night market for some killer pork skewers and pad thai for like 50 baht. way better than the overpriced stuff on khao san

also if you're hitting thonglor, skip tichuca on weekends unless you want to queue forever. the bar at the hyatt on sukhumvit 13 has a rooftop with a pool view that's way less crowded and the cocktails are 350 baht. the lychee martini there is dangerously good, had three last time and forgot to eat dinner

for the after hours crowd, there's a spot called glow on sukhumvit 23 that stays open till 4am most nights. no cover on weekdays and the crowd is mostly locals who just want to keep dancing. the sound system there is actually decent, not like those tourist traps that blast blown out speakers

for a different vibe entirely, check out the rooftop at the octave hotel in sukhumvit 57. it's three levels with different music on each floor, and the view from the top is arguably better than tichuca since it's less packed and you can actually get a seat without waiting an hour. drinks are about 400 baht but worth it for the quiet escape from the chaos below.

yeah the guide covers the main spots but one thing i'd say is hit up the rooftop at the lebua tower for the view, even if it's pricier. the drinks are like 500 baht but the river vista at night is unreal, and you can sometimes catch the last of the sunset if you time it right. just dress sharp or they'll turn you away at the door

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
