Start at Jay Fai for her famous crab omelette, then walk down Yaowarat Road for grilled seafood at T&K. For pad thai, skip Thip Samai (overrated tourist trap) and head to Pad Thai Fai Ta Lu on Dinso Road instead.

Khao San Road has decent options if you are already there, but the real gems are on Sukhumvit Soi 38 (night market) and the alley behind Terminal 21 near Asok BTS.

Budget tip: most street dishes cost 40-80 THB. Michelin-starred Jay Fai is the exception at 1000+ THB per dish. Worth it once.

Your guide's spot on about Yaowarat, but I'd add that the real move is going on a weekday evening. Weekend crowds make the whole experience feel rushed and you'll spend half your time dodging tour groups. I live near Charoen Krung and always take visitors on Tuesday or Wednesday nights instead.

One thing nobody mentions enough is the curry puffs from the Muslim food stalls near the Pahurat Cloth Market entrance. They're 20 baht each and come with a cucumber vinegar dip that cuts through the oil perfectly. Grab a few before you hit the seafood on Yaowarat Road, they're a better starter than the spring rolls most people reach for.

I've been eating street food in Bangkok for years and this guide gets it right. One thing I'd add is that the best boat noodles aren't in the tourist areas at all. Go to the Victory Monument area and find the cluster of stalls on Soi Ratchawithi 11. Each stall specializes in one thing, so pick the one with the longest line and order the pork version with extra blood cube. It's 20 baht per bowl and you'll want at least three. The broth is dark, rich, and nothing like the watery versions you get elsewhere.

yaowarat is a must but honestly the best street food i had was at the or tor kor market near chatuchak. way less crowded than chinatown and the grilled pork skewers there are insane, like 10 baht each and they come with this sticky sweet dipping sauce. also the mango sticky rice at the stall near the back entrance is better than any fancy dessert place i've been to

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
