heading to rainbow bar and grill on sunset in march 2026, is there a cover or best night to go for a first timer? also is it walkable from the strip or do i need to uber, & any food recs on the menu

Meatball sub, and the back bar opens earlier than the patio.

no cover on normal nights, only special events. for a first visit i'd do a thursday or friday around 9, early enough to grab a spot upstairs on the patio before it fills. it's technically walkable from the strip but sunset there is a miserable sidewalk situation so just uber, it's like 8 bucks from hollywood & vine. get the pizza, the rainbow is solid & the calamari too.

March is fine but check the calendar for the Whisky across the street, show nights flood the lot and cover can pop up. Park on Larrabee or Palm and walk up, valet there is a ripoff. The meatball sub beats the pizza for me.

Cash only at the door some nights so hit an ATM first, and the back room jukebox is where the regulars actually hang.
