I've got the application and the vet inspection lined up, but I'm stuck on the insurance certificate requirement, specifically what coverage limits they actually want to see. Anyone been through this renewal recently?

The county wants $1 million per occurrence and $2 million aggregate, so tell your carrier it's for an Animal Care and Control exhibitor permit specifically.

yep & get the additional insured endorsement naming the county

1m/2m is right but they also want the cert to show the policy number and named insured matching your permit exactly, mismatches got a guy i know sent back twice

Yeh and tell em it's specifically for a wildlife park exhibitor permit cuz a generic liability cert gets kicked back.

Make sure the certificate lists the county as additional insured for the full policy term, not just the renewal date. I'd also confirm your carrier will issue a 30-day cancellation notice clause, since the county clerk flagged that on ours last cycle.

Same clause caught us at the Downey office, ask for it in writing.

Good call on the full term. One thing to add: the clause has to name a specific number of days notice in writing, vague "endeavor to notify" wording gets bounced. Have your carrier put the exact days on the certificate itself, not just the policy.

Ours got bounced once because the certificate showed the policy period ending a day before the permit term, so have your carrier match the dates exactly.

Happened to us too, so now I have the carrier backdate coverage to the day the old permit lapses.

On the east coast thing, I've done the 6am start and the honest tradeoff is you lose Villa entirely since they open at 7. If your team's calls cluster before 9 Pacific, consider a co-working day pass a couple times a week instead of trying to make one cafe do everything.

Co-working day pass, Culver City, saves the 7am open.

Fair warning though, most of those spots in Culver City want you out by early afternoon too, so it's not the all-day fix people make it out to be.

Past 3pm they start stacking chairs.

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down
Image elisebauch local ·

Yeah, the 2pm rush from the Sawtelle lunch crowd is the real signal, once those tables clear out you're on borrowed time.

The chair stacking is real but it's the music that shifts first, they kill the playlist around 2:45 and the room goes cold. I've stretched to 4 once and the barista started wiping my table while I was still typing.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down
Image elisebauch local ·

That table wipe is the universal last call.

Yep, and the espresso machine getting shut down right after.

By 3:15 they're flipping the chairs onto tables, which is a louder hint than the stacking. I've also noticed the pastry case gets emptied by then, so if you want anything decent, grab it before the midday rush.

meter parking on the side street flips to permit only around 4 so that's usually what pushes me out, not the staff
