Anyone know if BOA is doing a late night menu in 2026? Trying to plan a birthday dinner without blowing the whole budget.

boa's late night thing is solid but i'd honestly take the birthday to riva bella instead, pasta holds up better for a group & they don't rush u out. sushi roku's hh is still king before the saban tho

Riva Bella's patio tables are the ones to request for a group, the inside gets loud once the bar fills up.

Corner table by the heater, book it early.

Fair point on the pasta, though I'd grab a 7pm table since their kitchen slows down after 9.

yeah the pasta thing is real, just grab the back room if ur a big group or it gets tight fast

If you're set on BOA, the late night menu is still running but only at the bar, so book the back booth early. For a group birthday, Katana on La Cienega does a better job with shared plates and won't wreck the budget.

Bar seating at BOA is first come first served so send someone early to hold it.

Katana's robata skewers, order those first.

Mastros, Tuesday nights, better steaks.

tuesday is the right call, weekends there get packed & the bar's a zoo. only thing id say is the hh pricing barely saves u anything unless ur doing the bar bites. the full steak is still full price

On the east coast thing, I've done the 6am start and the honest tradeoff is you lose Villa entirely since they open at 7. If your team's calls cluster before 9 Pacific, consider a co-working day pass a couple times a week instead of trying to make one cafe do everything.

Co-working day pass, Culver City, saves the 7am open.

Fair warning though, most of those spots in Culver City want you out by early afternoon too, so it's not the all-day fix people make it out to be.

Past 3pm they start stacking chairs.

Image elisebauch local ·

Yeah, the 2pm rush from the Sawtelle lunch crowd is the real signal, once those tables clear out you're on borrowed time.

The chair stacking is real but it's the music that shifts first, they kill the playlist around 2:45 and the room goes cold. I've stretched to 4 once and the barista started wiping my table while I was still typing.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down
Image elisebauch local ·

That table wipe is the universal last call.

Yep, and the espresso machine getting shut down right after.

By 3:15 they're flipping the chairs onto tables, which is a louder hint than the stacking. I've also noticed the pastry case gets emptied by then, so if you want anything decent, grab it before the midday rush.

meter parking on the side street flips to permit only around 4 so that's usually what pushes me out, not the staff
