Omorisanno's Secret?

Question

I'm headed to Omorisanno Hospital next week for a procedure. Heard whispers about a little shrine tucked away somewhere on the grounds, dedicated to a former doctor. Anyone know anything about it? Is it really there, and if so, what's the story? I'm weirdly fascinated by hospital lore...

fwiw my aunt worked there for like 20 years and she said the shrine's real but it's not for a doctor - it's for a janitor named tanaka who saved patients during the 1964 earthquake. it's near the old incinerator, pretty overgrown. she said staff still leave tea there sometimes out of respect

Huh, never heard of that. Omorisanno Hospital's pretty big, though. I've spent time there (family member was a patient), and I've never even noticed a shrine, let alone one dedicated to a former doctor. That sounds... intense. Maybe it's super well-hidden, or maybe it's just a rumour. You could try contacting the hospital administration directly; they might have some old records or even staff who know local legends. Or, if you're really into the mystery, take some extra time during your visit to explore the grounds. Just be mindful of where you're going, you know, for obvious reasons. Good luck with your procedure!

oh yeah that shrine's real, it's tucked behind the old admin building near the parking lot. it's for dr. omori's wife actually, she was a nurse there back in the 50s and apparently saved a bunch of kids during a fire. tiny little thing, mostly ignored by staff

yeah i actually stumbled on it once while looking for a bathroom. its behind this overgrown hedge, barely visible. locals say he was a surgeon who went missing in the 80s, some creepy stuff about his ghost still roaming the halls at night. prob just urban legend but its a cool
