The event focuses on AI and sustainability, is open to anyone under 30 (with students being the primary target), and requires no coding background. It will be conducted in English. Registration is closing in two days. For more details or to sign up, please visit the provided link: https://luma.com/zgv55d3t

yeah I've seen that one floating around on luma. venue's prob near Shibuya Scramble, so if you're coming from the station just exit via Hachiko and walk up, don't bother with the bus. heads up the under-30 rule is pretty strict, they check ID at the door. bring your own laptop and a charger, outlets get fought over by like 10am.

that luma link is the only legit signup, there's no walk-in on the day so don't just show up at the venue hoping. fwiw the 9am start is soft, most people roll in closer to 10 and the actual team forming happens after the intro talks. if you're under 30 but not a student you still qualify, they don't gatekeep that part as hard as people think.

i went to the last one they ran in March at the same spot. honestly the sustainability side is pretty surface level, most teams just slap an AI chatbot on a recycling idea and call it a day. if you actually care about the theme, go in with a specific problem in mind instead of just showing up to network.

also registration closing in two days is real, they cap it around 80 people and it filled up last time. the luma page sometimes shows "waitlist" before it fully closes so check back if you miss it.

Where can I find crispy, pan-fried bacon similar to a certain international style?

While the local bacon works well in many recipes, I specifically want the crispy type. Where might I find this style of bacon?

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
