Is there any cheap and good tailor shop around Bangkok preferably in the city?

I recently bought a leather jacket that was on sale but it's too long on me so I want to know if there's any decent tailor in the city that can crop the leather jacket for cheap. honestly for leather you're better off at a proper leather repair place not just any tailor. there's a spot called Leather Craft on Sukhumvit 49 that mainly does bags and jackets, they charged me 1,000 baht to shorten a leather coat last year. took about a week but the stitching was solid, they use the right thread and needles so it doesn't look hacked together

Try Pinky Tailors on Soi 23 near Asok. They do leather work and their prices are fair, usually around 1,200 to 1,500 baht for a crop job. Just make sure they know exactly where you want the hem, because once it's cut there's no going back. Leather's tricky so don't expect a same-day turnaround, give them at least 3 to 5 days.

why are you asking on a Q&A site instead of just walking into any tailor shop on sukhumvit and asking? crop a leather jacket for cheap good luck with that leather is a pain to work with expect to pay at least 800-1000 baht go to the mbk center

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
