Dental implants clinic reco in Bangkok?

yeah the google review thing is a problem here, dentists practically beg for them after every visit lol. i used Bumrungrad's dental center for a front tooth implant about 18 months ago, not the cheapest place but the lab work is on-site and the surgeon actually showed me the 3D scan before placing it. they quoted me 55k baht for the whole thing including the crown, which is more than Thantakit but you're paying for the hospital backup if something goes wrong. the real test is how it feels after a year, no gum issues or weird gaps, feels like my own tooth

i went to smile dental on sukhumvit soi 11 last year for a single implant. dr pattara was the one who did it, she's really meticulous. total cost was around 45k baht including the crown, which felt reasonable compared to some places quoting 60k+. the procedure itself was fine, just local anesthesia, and they gave me a temporary crown while the osseointegration happened over a few months. the follow-up was good too, they called to check in after a week. i'd avoid the ones near khao san road, they tend to push cheaper materials. for your own experience, just ask to see the lab they use for the crown, that's where quality varies a lot

my sister went to bangkok international dental center on ratchadaphisek last year. she had two implants done for about 80k total, which is decent for that area. the clinic is pretty big and they have this digital scanning thing instead of the messy molds, made the process way less annoying for her. dr thanakorn handled it and she said he explained everything clearly, no hidden fees or upselling. i'd steer clear of the super cheap places on soi cowboy, theyre known to outsource crowns to random labs. ask if they do the implant in-house or send it out, that's a good gauge of quality.

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
