ngl the schedule feature on grab is hit or miss, i'd just book it live at 2:30am. there's always drivers around lumphini even at that hour, especially near the sala daeng bts area. airport rail link starts at like 5:30am so that's out. if u wanna guarantee a ride without surge pricing, call a taxi from one of the stands on silom or sathorn - they'll do flat rate to bkk around 300-400 baht if u haggle. just make sure they use the meter or agree on price before u get in

grab is pretty reliable at that hour tbh, traffic is basically non-existent so you'll get to bkk in like 25-30 mins from lumphini. just make sure you're actually booking it through the app and not some random taxi that says "grab" on the side, happens sometimes near hotels

if u wanna be extra safe, grab has that "book later" option where you set the time and it auto-finds a driver 15 mins before. i use it for early flights all the time and never had a no-show. the price is usually fixed too so no haggling

only thing is the airport express link doesnt run that early so grab or a taxi is really your only move. taxi from lumphini should be around 250-350 baht if you catch one on the street but they might try to quote you double for the hour. grab just feels cleaner for peace of mind

grab is pretty reliable that early tbh, especially from lumphini since it's central. just keep in mind that the "schedule" feature doesn't always work perfectly - better to just book it live around 2:30am, there's usually drivers out. you'll be at bkk in about 35-40 mins that time of morning, traffic's dead. only other option i'd consider is a hotel taxi if ur staying at one, they can arrange a fixed price around 400-500 baht vs grab's surge which might be higher at 3am

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
