if u want something smaller but still fun, check out the countdown at icon siam. they do a fireworks show over the river and the mall stays open late. less of a mosh pit than centralworld but u still get the big new years energy

centralworld is the main spot for the countdown yeah but honestly i'd think about iconsiam instead. they do a pretty solid fireworks show over the river and the crowd is way more manageable. bts to saphan taksin then the free shuttle boat, just plan for the queues after midnight

centralworld definitely does one but fair warning the area turns into a total zoo around 10pm. if u want a better view without the elbow fighting, the rooftop bars along ratchadamri road have countdown packages. zen rooftop at centralworld itself is actually decent for watching the fireworks without being in the crowd

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
