The way the water catches the neon lights from the condos across the river is hypnotic, and the fried banana vendor near the entrance does a good batch for 20 baht if the munchies hit.
Since you're already floating, the best move is to grab a taxi to the Golden Mount at Wat Saket. It's open until 7pm and the climb up the spiral staircase through the bells and trees feels like ascending into another dimension. Once you're at the top, the 360 degree view of Bangkok sprawled out below you is perfect for staring at while the brownie peaks. There's a small bench on the northeast side that catches the breeze and you can watch the planes landing at Don Mueang in the distance, just bring your own water because the shop up there is overpriced.
