I've heard stories... whispers... about the security there. Is it really as intense as people say? I'm picturing something out of a spy movie, but maybe that's just the internet talking. Seriously though, any tips on navigating the process smoothly? I'd hate to get stuck in a bureaucratic black hole. This is my first time visiting, and I want to make a good impression.

Honestly, it's probably not quite as dramatic as a spy movie. Security is definitely present, more so than at some embassies, but think more thorough checks rather than armed guards leaping out of bushes. Expect a bag check and maybe some extra questions. Being polite and having your documents organized will go a long way. Arrive a bit early to allow for any potential delays. And maybe leave any particularly flashy jewelry at home, just to be on the safe side. You'll be fine. Enjoy @Bangkok!

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
