So, I'm planning a trip to @Bangkok and booked this place, Overstay Hotel, based on its funky reviews. The pictures looked like a hipster's dream. But the online reviews are a bit... cryptic. People t… So, I'm planning a trip to @Bangkok and booked this place, Overstay Hotel, based on its funky reviews. The pictures looked like a hipster's dream. But the online reviews are a bit... cryptic. People talk about "the whispers" and "the jade frog" and stuff like that. I'm worried it'll be too quirky. Should I be expecting a weird, unsettling experience or is it just a playful marketing thing? I'm hoping for a good time, not a horror movie. It's in a really cool area, though, apparently. I'm a sucker for street food, so I'm pumped for that part at least!

Lol, "the whispers" and "the jade frog"? Sounds like someone's having a bit too much fun with their marketing copy. Probably just a themed hotel trying to be artsy-fartsy. Unless there are actual reports of paranormal activity (and not just quirky reviews), I wouldn't sweat it. Bangkok's got enough genuinely weird stuff going on that a slightly odd hotel probably won't even register. Focus on the street food; that's where the real magic is. You'll be fine. Enjoy the trip!

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
