So I'm heading to @Bangkok next month, super hyped to finally explore Sukhumvit Road. Everyone keeps saying it NEVER sleeps, but I'm a light sleeper. Any tips for finding a quiet hotel or area on Su… So I'm heading to @Bangkok next month, super hyped to finally explore Sukhumvit Road. Everyone keeps saying it NEVER sleeps, but I'm a light sleeper. Any tips for finding a quiet hotel or area on Sukhumvit, or am I doomed to a week of near-constant noise? I want the vibrant street life, but not the all-night party vibes blasting through my window. Seriously considering earplugs, but I'd rather not resort to those.

i'd skip the main Sukhumvit road hotels and go for something on a small soi between Asok and Phrom Phong. Soi 31 or 33 are dead quiet after midnight but you're still a 2 min walk to the BTS and all the street food. ask for a room on the back side of the building away from the soi, most newer condos turned hotels have decent soundproofing. earplugs are still a good backup but you probably won't need them

Yeah, you're not totally doomed. Try getting a room on a high floor at a hotel that's set back from the main road, like on one of the smaller sois off Sukhumvit. Some of the newer spots around Phrom Phong or Thong Lo have decent soundproofing and still put you close to all the action.

if you're set on being on sukhmvit proper, soi 11 is prob the worst for noise so avoid that. soi 55 (thong lo) further down is a good bet, lots of the condos there have thick windows and you're still close to everything. just check the hotel's construction year on Agoda, anything built after 2015 usually has decent soundproofing as standard

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
