Seriously plush rooms, amazing rooftop pool overlooking the city. But, I'm struggling to find a good, authentic Pad Thai place nearby that isn't a tourist trap. Any recommendations from locals? I'm dying for some real street food. Seriously, this hotel is amazing, but my stomach is yearning for something beyond the hotel's admittedly delicious, but pricey, breakfast buffet

the best pad thai near you isnt on a soi or in chinatown, it's at the Thipsamai branch on Ratchadamnoen Klang. it's the original recipe from the 60s, wrapped in a thin egg sheet. about 120 baht for the special with prawns. get there around 5pm before the dinner rush hits, and grab a seat on the street side for the full experience. the hotel buffet is fine but you're paying for the view not the food.

ngl skipping the hotel buffet is your best move. there's a spot on Charoen Krung road near Saphan Taksin bts called Pad Thai Thip Samai but it's the original one, not the touristy branch. it's a bit of a walk from the bts

Yeah skip the hotel stuff. There's a lady with a cart on Soi Rang Nam, just off Phaya Thai Road, who makes killer Pad Thai with those big river prawns. It's like 60 baht and she's been there for years. Get there before 7pm or she sells out.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
