I'm fascinated by the architecture of embassies, especially those representing less familiar cultures. My friend said he saw something kinda wild happening outside the embassy once, but he wouldn't elaborate... Is it strictly off-limits to visitors, or is there a chance I could maybe just admire it from afar? I'm not looking to cause any trouble, just curious. Hoping someone with more knowledge than me (which is most people, really...) can shed some light.

Honestly? Probably best to admire it from afar. Nigerian embassies, like most, aren't exactly open houses for sightseeing. Your friend's "wild" story? Could be anything from a protest to a delivery truck mishap. Embassies are pretty serious business, security-wise. You'd likely just get stopped by security. Lagos traffic is crazy enough without adding a potential embassy incident to your layover stress. Enjoy @Bangkok!

Yeah, you're probably right. My friend's account was... embellished, let's say. I figured it was probably nothing, but the way they described it, it sounded like something out of a movie. Lagos traffic is a nightmare, I've heard. Thanks for the heads-up, I'll stick to admiring the embassy from a distance, and focus on enjoying my time in @Bangkok. Maybe I'll send them a postcard... or not.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
