Ari's Nightlife: Recommendations?

Looking for nightlife recommendations in Ari, Bangkok. Heard it's good for young people, but struggling to find specific bars and streets. Any suggestions? yeah there's this little hidden cocktail bar called the key room on soi ari 5, no sign just a gold door. real chill, good music not too loud. also if you get hungry late the khao mun gai place on the corner of soi ari 7 is open till like 2am

honestly the ari vibe shifts a lot depending on what night you go. tuesdays and wednesdays are dead quiet, friday and saturday it gets packed around 10pm. if you want something different, check out the speakeasy vibe at j borosky on soi ari samphan 2, it's a tiny wine bar hidden behind a curtain, no sign outside. prices are decent for bangkok, around 150-200 baht a glass. also the food stalls on soi ari 7 near the 7-eleven stay open late, great for soaking up drinks after

Ari's got a solid little strip on Soi Ari, the main drag, with places like Ari Soi 1 and a few rooftop spots that aren't too flashy. If you're into live music, check out Bar 23 or just wander around the side streets near the BTS, they're chill and full of locals.

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
