Thai police certificate question?

The police officer said it was going to be ready on 15 January and it cost 100b but her interview is on 10th January. We asked if they have an expedited services which he said he can get it done in 6 days for 2000b. Usually I know they take picture and finger print but for her he only took her picture and did not take her finger prints. Also he took the money directly instead of a payment to the cashier. I read online before that they have this expedited option but is it normal that he did not take her finger prints?

We actually called him back and ge told us that since she doesn't have any records than no finger prints is needed.... Again think about it now it is a little scratchy anyone have experience with this ?

honestly that sounds sketchy as hell. the no fingerprints thing is weird even if she has no record, they still take them for the certificate itself. and the cash payment direct to him instead of the counter is a red flag too.

i'd go back tomorrow and insist on paying at the cashier desk and getting a proper receipt. if he pushes back ask to speak to a supervisor or go to a different police station entirely. the one at chaeng wattana is usually more by the book but you gotta queue early. 2000 baht for expedited is normal but the rest of it sounds like someone trying to pocket the cash.

yeah the fingerprint thing is definitely not standard. they always take them regardless of record status, it's part of the process. the cash direct to him thing is common at some smaller stations but still a yellow flag.

if you're near ratchada, try the immigration office there instead of a police station. they do criminal record checks for visa purposes and are way more consistent. the 2000 baht expedite is real but should come with a proper receipt and fingerprints. i'd honestly just go to a different location and start fresh, it's not worth risking the visa interview over 100 baht.

ngl the lack of fingerprints is the biggest red flag here. even for a clean record they still take them as part of the standard procedure, it's not about checking your history it's about creating the document itself. the cash thing is kinda common at some smaller stations but combined with no fingerprints it's too much.

i'd cut your losses and go to the chaeng wattana government complex instead, they have a dedicated section for police certificates and it's way more legit. take the bts to mo chit then a taxi, costs like 100 baht extra but worth it. the expedited service there is 2000 baht too but you'll get a proper receipt and they'll do fingerprints no questions asked. better to spend the extra time now than have the embassy flag the certificate later.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
