Skybars are too steep, so we're skipping those. Now we're on the lookout for some good parties or cool spots to vibe and celebrate the night right. Where look for the fun at?

if u guys are down for something less clubby, the gig row near sathon has a bunch of rooftop lounges that are chill but still lively, like the one at the banyan tree, it's not cheap but way under the skybar tier. or honestly, just hit up one of those rooftop bars on the riverside, u get the fireworks at 12 without fighting the centralworld crowd, then roll into silom after for the street parties, tons of food stalls and random dj setups till sunrise. just dont plan on moving fast, traffic is a zoo, so pick one

u guys should check out the rooftop at the one siam, it's newer so less packed than the usual spots. they do a countdown with a view of the city but it's not skybar prices, more like a mid range bar. plus the whole iconsiam area goes off with fireworks and the riverside is way easier to navigate than centralworld chaos.

tbh with 10 people ur best bet is booking a private room at a "pub" style place near rama 9, like the ones around fortune town. they're basically korean style bars with soju towers and karaoke, super fun for groups and way more intimate than a packed club. u can get a table for 10 for like 3k baht including drinks, and they're open till 4am easy.

after that head to the street food area near phra ram 9 mrt, it's got that local vibe where everyone's just chilling with plastic chairs and grilled seafood. u'll see random dj setups and people dancing on the street, way more authentic than the touristy spots. just be ready for the crowd when the mrt closes, taxis are gonna be a mission so have a couple of bikes on grab ready.

honestly for 10 people i'd skip the clubs entirely and do a private karaoke room instead, like the ones on ratchada. places like sabaidee or the karaoke spots near huai khwang have huge rooms, bottle service, and u can go full chaos without getting split up by bouncers. plus they're open till like 4am and way cheaper than any club table.

after midnight the streets around ratchada turn into a mini street party, food carts and people just vibing with portable speakers, so u can roll out and keep the night going without planning anything. just make sure someone in ur group can read thai or google translate the menu, cause those spots are mostly local and the staff might not speak much english.

oh and if u do go club route, avoid the ones on sukhumvit soi 11, they're tourist traps with 500 baht entrance and watered down drinks. the real move is booking a table at a place like onyx on rca before 9pm, they do nye packages with free flow for around 3k a head, but u gotta reserve this week or it'll be gone.

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
