What are they building in Lumpini Park ?

We went there today visiting and it was more akin a construction zone than a park.

What event is coming up ? We couldn't find anything about it.

honestly lumpini is a mess right now but it's not just the red cross fair, there's also some ongoing work on the new underground parking lot near the south entrance. that's been dragging on for months so even without the fair it's prob gonna stay a construction zone for a while. if u want a decent view of the chaos, grab a coffee at the cafe on the 4th floor of the siam paragon mall, u can see the whole park from up there without stepping in the mud

yeah it's the red cross fair setup, happens every year around this time so the park gets totally taken over for like a month. if u want somewhere peaceful to walk instead, check out saranrom park it's a 10 min walk from lumpini and way quieter, no construction vibes at all.

They're setting up for the annual Red Cross Fair, which starts the first week of December. It's been a tradition there for ages, so they basically take over a big chunk of the park with stages, food stalls, and carnival rides. If you want a quieter visit, try the Benjakitti Park across the street instead, it's a lot more chill right now.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
