Best dentist in Bangkok for fillings?

if u have only a few days at the end, book the first appointment for day 1 of ur trip not the last, bc 7 fillings sometimes needs a second visit if any are deep & they want to check the bite. thantakit on phloen chit is my go to, mostly thai patients, not a review farm. expect around 1200 to 1800 per filling there & theyre honest if a tooth actually needs a root canal instead of just filling it

whitening after fillings is the right order btw, composite doesnt whiten so do it last or the shade wont match

honestly the review discount thing is everywhere in Bangkok too, especially around Sukhumvit. i'd look at BIDC on Sathorn or Thonglor Dental Hospital, both do composite fillings around 1500 to 2500 baht per tooth depending on size. 7 fillings plus whitening is doable in one long session if you ask them upfront, they'll usually block 2-3 hours.

one thing tho, get a cleaning first before fillings, otherwise they're filling over gunk and it won't last. and ask for the composite shade match, some cheap places just use one generic white that looks off next to your other teeth.

thantakit is solid but for 7 fillings i'd go somewhere with more than one dentist on shift, like bangkok international dental center on sathorn or the dental faculty at chula. reason is you can get 4 done on one side, wait a few days, then the other side, instead of one marathon session where your jaw is dead and the dentist is rushing the last two. composite at chula runs like 800 to 1200 per tooth but you deal with students supervised by profs, so it's slow but cheap & thorough.

also skip the whitening package they upsell at the end of a filling appointment. do it 2 weeks after the fillings settle, otherwise the composite picks up the peroxide and goes cloudy at the margins.

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
