Best areas to stay in Bangkok for Tourists with Mobility Issues?

My mom can't walk for too long at a time. I'd like to minimize unnecessary walking so she can give her all at temples and other touristic spots. fwiw sukhumvit is solid but if she really struggles with walking, look at siam square area. the bts siam station is a major interchange with big elevators and the skywalk connects to multiple malls, so you can rest in air conditioning every few steps. taxis from siam square soi 1 or 3 are easy to flag down, and it's only 2-3 stops to the river for temple hopping. one thing nobody mentioned is the songthaews - those red shared taxis that run along certain routes, you can wave them down anywhere and they're cheap, but they don't have kneeling access so only if she can step up into one

I'd look at staying near the BTS Skytrain, specifically along Sukhumvit between Asok and Thong Lo. Those stations have elevators at most exits now, and you can grab a taxi from the street pretty easily without walking far. For temples, the river taxi from Sathorn Pier is a nice option since you can sit the whole way and hop off right at Wat Arun or the Grand Palace area. Just avoid Khao San Road for accommodation, it's a maze of uneven pavement and you'll be fighting crowds constantly.

honestly i'd say riverside area near saphan taksin bts. the skywalk connects straight to the pier for the tourist boats so she can sit down the whole way to temples like wat arun. taxis are easy to grab from the hotel lobbies around there too and it's way less chaotic than sukhumvit for navigating with her

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
