Hello everyone. I will be transferring to Bangkok for work in September. I have spent quite a bit of time in Thailand over the past decade, but never more than a month, never lived there.

We are looking to rent an apartment in a comfortable, non party-centric area. I'd like to be somewhere where we have good access to public transportation, bur far enough away from a highway that we have a bit of green space around, a bit less noisy.

Areas I seem attracted to are Ari and Ekkamai. I have also heard some good things about On-Nut, but it seems it might be a bit far out?

I have also thought living near Lumphini Park, or Benchatti Park could be interesting for access to that green space, but realize that's right in the thick of things.

Very open to your thoughts and opinions about these areas. We are not looking for a "totally Thai" area, or an expat haven. We just want a great place to live where we can connect with others. My wife is Chinese, so an area that's a good mix of nationalities would be great. We are looking to have our first kid next year and as such aim for a 2-3 bedroom condo, with a pool, maybe a small gym.

Thanks for any and all insights.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
