Where's the cheapest place to buy used books?

honestly the best deal i've found is at the secondhand shops on khao san road, but not the main strip. there's a tiny soi off rambuttri street with a couple of stalls that sell english paperbacks for like 30-50 baht each, just dig through the piles. they're mostly thrillers and romance novels but sometimes you get lucky with something decent

For sheer volume and dirt cheap prices, head to the book market under the Saphan Phut bridge by Memorial Bridge. It's mostly Thai titles but there are a few vendors with English bins, and you can haggle down to 30-40 baht per book if you buy a stack. Bring cash and wear shoes you don't mind getting dusty.

If you're fine with online, check out the Facebook group "Bangkok Book Exchange." People sell used English books for 50-150 baht and you can pick up around town. For offline, try the stalls at Chatuchak Market on weekends, near the back section by the antique area, prices start at 40 baht if you browse a bit.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
