Itinerary advice till tomorrow evening?

I'm hitching a shared cab to my hotel in Khaosan Road. I also have yet to buy a SIM card and activate it but there's one within 100 m from the hotel per the Agoda listing.

Given it's almost 5 PM and I can't expect to be freshened up before say 6 - what all can I explore? I'm not a shopping aficionado neither very religious (respectful, sure) so not sure about visiting the monuments right away.

Due to shoddy planning flights shot beyond my budget so I'm planning to take an overnight bus to Krabi tomorrow evening.

Any advice as to the places I can explore till then or where to board my bus from (have read advice on only preferring the "government sponsored buses" for a comfy ride. I'm told I can hail them from Southern terminal (Sai Tai Mai).

Any advice on sights to explore till tomorrow evening or bus operators to avoid/prefer is welcome.

I'm keen to do Chinatown, Lumpini, Sea World or the riverfront. Wonder if it will be too hectic. I'm back in Bangkok on 21st or 22nd probably. So another 2 days to explore the rest.

Thanks for anything.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
