Anyone have any epxerience with a company that can sell and set up one of the Intex type pools? Looking to add to our garden. Can't seem to find where to buy them etc.

I am guessing you need to add a filter, pump, perhaps something on the floor - want to see cost and if a company that does this?

yeah you can find those intex pools at homepro or global house, both have decent selection especially the bigger branches like the one on rama 2 or bangna

if you want someone to set it up properly try searching for "สระน้ำสำเร็จรูปติดตั้ง" on facebook marketplace or look up a guy named tuk at pool hub bangkok, he does the whole thing including the sand filter and the ground pad for like 3-5k baht labor depending on size

you'll definitely need a pump and filter, the intex ones that come with the pool kits are ok but most people swap to a proper sand filter after a year, that'll run you another 4-6k at homepro

ground prep is key, you need it flat and ideally a layer of that foam puzzle mat or sand underneath, otherwise the floor gets lumpy and can puncture

honestly just check lazada or shopee for the intex pools themselves, way cheaper than homepro especially during sales. the 10ft round one with the filter pump combo is usually around 2.5k online vs 4k in store

for the setup i'd say do it yourself if you're even slightly handy, it's just a flat spot and a hose. the intex cartridge filter that comes with it works fine for the first season if you clean it every few days, you don't need to drop extra on a sand filter right away

if you're set on hiring someone, ask around on the bangkok expat facebook groups for "pool installation" - there's a guy named john who does this on the side near on nut, charges like 2k for ground leveling and assembly, he's quick and knows his stuff

the foam puzzle mats from mr diy work fine as a base, just make sure the ground is completely level first or you'll get pooling on one side

the other replies covered the basics but one thing nobody mentioned - check the thai online pool groups on facebook, there's a few like "สระว่ายน้ำในบ้าน" where people sell used intex pools all the time. seen 12ft ones with filters go for like 1k baht if you're fine with secondhand

for the ground prep, if you have tiles or concrete already you can skip the foam mats and just use a thick tarp underneath, saves you a trip to mr diy. just make sure there's no sharp edges or debris

one thing I'd add - think about where the water goes when you drain it. those pools hold a lot of water and you dont want to flood your neighbor's yard or the soi. some people run a hose to the drainage ditch but check your setup first

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
