Best scenic rooftops for proposal in Bangkok?

However it's quite intimidating to decide on one especially with the amount of wide range options Bangkok has. Can you all please share a couple you think might be good. Again a good scenic view/vibe and privacy is a must followed by a good dinner.

Thank you very much in advance and I will really appreciate all the help 🙏

If you want privacy and a knockout view without feeling like you're in a crowded bar, try the Tichuca Rooftop Bar at the T-One Building on Sukhumvit 40. It's known for that dramatic "tree" light installation and the 46th floor view is solid, but the real trick is getting a table on the quieter side or booking their private dining corner. The food is good but not mind-blowing, though the atmosphere does all the heavy lifting for a proposal. For something more classic and less flashy, the rooftop at Sala Rattanakosin across the river gives you the Wat Arun view straight on, and their dinner service is more intimate with fewer people milling around.

You really can't go wrong with Above Eleven on Sukhumvit 11. It's got that open-air garden vibe with the skyline all around you, and they're used to couples wanting a quieter corner for special moments. The Peruvian-Japanese food is actually good, not just a gimmick, and if you call ahead they'll set up a table with the best sightline. For something more low-key, try the rooftop at the Praya Palazzo on the river. It's a small hotel only reachable by their private boat, so you get that hidden feel and the view of the old city skyline is stunning at sunset. The dinner there is Thai and it's solid, plus you'll have the place mostly to yourselves on a weekday.

honestly the best move here is to go somewhere that does private dining setups, not just a regular bar table. Moon Bar at the Banyan Tree is the classic for a reason, that 61st floor open deck with no glass barriers is insane at golden hour. but you gotta book the private corner table or they'll just stick you with everyone else.

if you want something more under the radar than Tichuca or Above Eleven, check out the rooftop at the SO/ Bangkok. their Hi-So bar has these private cabana style seats right at the edge, and the view over the river with the new skyline is gorgeous at night. the food is French-Thai fusion and honestly better than most hotel rooftops, plus the staff are really good at being discreet when you need a moment.

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
