Best bar / club for a foreigner with 0 social skills to find interested non-professional women?
I work as an accountant and as I have autism, I'm not really the party type or "fun" to be around, so I'm looking for a place where I could meet a woman that would be happy to be with me just because I'm white and I can take her out to nice places and buy her stuff. I'd rather not have her be a professional / escort, even if she likes me because I buy her stuff, I don't really want it to be purely transactional, if that makes sense.
Some places I've looked at would be Climax and The Club in Kaosan road?
I've tried dating apps / thaicupid but most women I've talked with there seem to be fake profiles / don't talk back.
tbh forget khao san, that's not your scene. try a place like levels or above eleven in sukhumvit - they're rooftop bars with a more mature crowd, women in their late 20s to 30s who are just out with friends after work. the music is loud enough to have a vibe but not so loud you cant talk, and being on a rooftop gives you an easy opener "nice view right?"
also don't sleep on the lounge at the marriott queen's park, it's quieter and full of thai women who work in offices nearby having after work drinks. they're used to foreigners and honestly some are just looking for a stable guy to take them to nice dinners, not partying. buy a bottle of wine for your table and just sit there, you don't even have to approach anyone aggressively, just exist and let them come to you if they're interested
honestly, skip khao san road for what you're looking for. climx and the club are tourist traps with loud music and drunk backpackers, not the vibe for a calm conversation. try a place like the iron fairies in thong lo, it's dimly lit and has live jazz so you can actually talk without shouting. the crowd is a mix of locals and expats, and the women there aren't looking for a transaction, just a decent night out. buy a drink at the bar, sit near the counter, and if you catch someone's eye just nod and say "hi" - the low pressure setting does half the work for you.
best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026
yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
