Airbnb + cleaning service?

most airbnb hosts in bkk will arrange a cleaner for an extra fee if you ask before booking, just message them directly. some of the newer condos like those along sukhumvit soi 11 or in thong lor have daily housekeeping add-ons through the building's own service, it's not advertised but it's there. i'd skip the sheets changed daily thing though, the humidity here means they dry weird and you'll be fine with every other day.

If you book through a host who manages multiple properties, they often have a cleaning crew on retainer already. I've had luck asking for a mid-week refresh for around 400 baht, which is cheaper than what the building's front desk might quote you. Just factor it into your Airbnb search filters for "extra services" or check the listing description for mentions of on-site management. The humidity does make sheets feel damp if changed too often, so every three days is actually more comfortable here.

Some of those luxury condo buildings along Wireless Road actually have a hotel-style housekeeping service you can buy separately, even if you booked through Airbnb. The staff at the front desk can usually point you to the building management office and they'll charge around 300-500 baht per cleaning. For a week-long stay I'd just book two cleanings in the middle of your trip, the sheets thing is overrated when you're out exploring the city most of the day anyway.

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
