Gaggan at Louis vuitton worth it?

Hi everyone (: I'll be visiting Bangkok in Jan and wanted to know if going to Gaggan at LV would be worth more than going to Gaggan or whether it's just hype? TIA🙏☺️ Hi everyone (: I'll be visiting Bangkok in Jan and wanted to know if going to Gaggan at LV would be worth more than going to Gaggan or whether it's just hype? TIA🙏☺️

I've been to both and the LV collaboration is a completely different experience from the original Gaggan. The food is more playful and theatrical at LV, with dishes that reference both Indian cuisine and luxury branding in a way that feels intentional rather than gimmicky. But the price is significantly higher and you're paying for the setting and the name as much as the meal. If you want the pure Gaggan focus on progressive Indian flavors without the fashion house markup, the original spot on Soi 31 is still excellent and more relaxed.

honestly if you've got the budget and want the full spectacle, the LV collab is a trip. the dishes come with stories and the whole vibe is very "we are in a luxury store" which some people love. but for me, the original Gaggan on Soi 31 is where the soul is. the tasting menu there is still wild and inventive, and you're not paying extra for the handbag wallpaper. also way easier to get a reservation at the original, the LV one books out months in advance. imo go to the original and spend the leftover cash on a killer meal at Sorn or something

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
