Where can I find a handyman?

Where can I find a cheap handyman to build one ikea-type furniture? It's rather a small job and unfortunately Btaskee doesn't do these types of jobs Where can I find a cheap handyman to build one ikea-type furniture? It's rather a small job and unfortunately Btaskee doesn't do these types of jobs

try the app "Fixzy" if you havent yet, it's made for this kind of thing and has a flat rate for ikea assembly around 350 baht. also if you're near Ari or Ekkamai, there's usually guys outside the hardware stores on the main road who'll do it on the spot for cash, just haggle a bit

honestly just walk into any local hardware store or home pro near you and ask the staff if they know anyone. the smaller shops around places like Saphan Kwai or Bang Sue usually have guys hanging around who'll do small jobs for cash. expect to pay around 300-500 baht for assembling a single ikea piece, depends on complexity

fwiw there's a Line group called "ช่างซ่อมบ้าน" (home repair guys) where people post small jobs and the handymen bid on them. you'll need a thai friend to help navigate but it's way cheaper than any app service. also check the classifieds on Pantip marketplace, lots of freelance guys there who'll come to your condo for quick work

another option is to ask the security guard or juristic office at your condo, they usually know a guy who does this on the side. the building maintenance guys sometimes take cash jobs after hours, just tip them 100-200 baht on top of the agreed price. i've done this a few times in my condo near thong lo and it works fine

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
