I've only gotten the dried mango in a large pack before but only in BKK airport.

This time, I would like to get the dried mango and squid slices in larger quantity and in large packs, if possible, when I'm in Bangkok in December. I'm hoping it'll be cheaper in the city than the airport.

Anyone can recommend where I can get those in BKK? And also any Halal snacks recommendation I can bring back home for work colleagues?

The best deals on dried mango and squid are actually at the fresh markets, not the tourist spots. Try Or Tor Kor Market near Mo Chit BTS - it's less chaotic than Chatuchak and the dried fruit vendors there sell big kilo bags for around 200 baht, which is half what you'd pay at Big C. For halal snacks, the Muslim quarter around Pahurat has some great shops selling spiced fish crackers and beef rendang in sealed packs, way more authentic than the supermarket stuff. Just walk along the main road near the Pahurat intersection and you'll see a few family-run stalls with good prices.

For dried mango and squid slices, head to Yaowarat (Chinatown) along Yaowarat Road. The shops there sell them in bulk by the kilo, and it's way cheaper than the airport - think around 200-300 baht per kilo versus double that at the airport. For halal options, look for the brand "Siam Halal" at Big C or Tesco Lotus, they do a decent range of fish crackers and curry puffs that are vacuum-sealed for travel.

honestly, skip chinatown for snacks unless you want to haggle in bulk - the prices there are fine but the selection at big c extra on ratchadamri is way better for grabbing big packs of dried mango and squid slices in one stop. they have those big 500g bags from brands like doikham for around 250 baht, and the halal section is solid too, with those little fish-shaped crackers that are super popular with tourists. if you want something more local, check the stalls at chatuchak market on weekends, there's a guy near section 6 who sells spicy dried squid by the kilo for like 180 baht and it's way better than the airport stuff

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
