I live in Bangkok and I want to go camping. Where are the interesting camping spot I can go to?

You don't have to go far from Bangkok for a decent camping setup. I'd recommend checking out the area around Kaeng Krachan National Park, about a 2-3 hour drive southwest. The campsites near the reservoir have flat ground, basic toilet blocks, and you can rent tents for around 300-500 baht if you don't have your own. The real draw is the morning mist over the water and the chance to see hornbills and gibbons if you get up early enough.

If you want something closer, there's also Lam Phaya Floating Market with a small camping zone by the canal. It's only about an hour from the city, but the amenities are more basic and you'll want to bring your own food. The market itself is closed most weekdays though, so aim for a Saturday or Sunday if you go that route.

For a quick overnight trip, try the camping zone at Khao Yai National Park's Pha Kluay Mai campsite. It's about a 2.5 hour drive from Bangkok up Highway 304, and you'll get a grassy spot under the pine trees for 30 baht per person. The trail to Heo Suwat waterfall is an easy 30 minute walk from there, and you can grab a basic meal at the park restaurant before sunset. Just book your spot online through the national parks website a few days ahead, because weekend slots fill up fast.

If you want something really different, head to the camping area at Phra Chedi Klang Nam in Samut Prakan. It's a temple on the Chao Phraya River, and they let you pitch a tent right on the platform near the water for free, though a small donation is appreciated. The best part is watching the sun set over the river with the city skyline in the distance, and there's a night market about a 10 minute walk away for dinner. Just bring mosquito repellent, the bugs can be brutal near the water.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
