Good gyms (classes or PT) in Silom/Sathorn?

Any recommendations? Any recommendations?

Another option is the outdoor fitness area at Lumphini Park. It's free, open from 5 AM, and there's a solid crew of regulars who do bodyweight circuits and stretching by the lake. Not the place for structured classes or PT, but it's a good change of pace if you want to train outside without any commitment.

For something more specific, there's a small yoga studio called Yoga Space on Sathorn Soi 8 that does 6 AM classes for like 300 baht. The teacher focuses on alignment and breathing, not just flow, and the early start means you're done before traffic gets bad. It's a tight room upstairs from a coffee shop, maybe 10 mats max.

For classes, I'd say check out Absolute You on Sathorn Soi 10. They do a lot of reformer Pilates and yoga, and the instructors actually correct your form rather than just calling out cues from the front of the room. It's a bit pricier than the usual gyms though, around 1,500 baht per drop in. If you're closer to Silom, there's also We Fitness on Soi 5 which has small group HIIT and boxing classes that run around 500 baht per session and rarely have more than 8 people.

If you're near the Silom end, Club 24 Fitness inside the Montien Hotel on Surawong has a decent setup that flies under the radar. Their PTs are independent contractors so you can negotiate rates, usually around 800-1,000 baht per session if you buy a block. The equipment is older but well maintained and it's rarely crowded since most people don't know it's there.

For something completely different, there's a small boxing gym called Sithsaena on Sathorn Soi 10 that runs group circuits for 300 baht a class. No AC, just fans and concrete floors, but the trainers have real fight experience and the vibe is nothing like those polished Muay Thai tourist spots. Show up early because the 6 PM session fills up with local office workers.

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
