Racing Simulator gaming cafes?

Anyone know a gaming cafe or place that has racing simulators I can rent and practice on?

I am trying to qualify for my FIA license and also qualify for e2real prodigy racing

the e2real stuff is pretty niche here, most places don't have the proper pedals for it. if you're serious about FIA license, skip the arcade rigs and check out the private sim lounge at Seacon Square, it's a bit out of the way but they run iRacing and have load cell brakes that actually translate to real car feel. think it's around 500 baht an hour, but you can book the whole afternoon and they'll set up your FOV and everything.

also, fwiw, the demo zone place mentioned is decent but the motion rigs can throw off your muscle memory if you're practicing for a real track. i'd rather use a static rig with good force feedback, less gimmicky. if you're near bang na, there's a small shop called SimPro Racing, it's mostly a hardware store but they let you rent the rigs they have on display, and they're the only spot i've found that has the exact Fanatec setup used in e2real qualifiers. just dm them on line first, they're not always open.

Most places in Bangkok with sim rigs are tucked inside bigger esports arenas rather than standalone cafes. I'd check out the setup at True Digital Park in Thong Lo, they have a few Fanatec and Logitech rigs that you can rent by the hour, though you might need to call ahead for the good ones. For FIA license practice specifically, you'll want to make sure the venue has the same sim software you're training on, a lot of them only run Assetto Corsa or GT7, not the official F1 or iRacing titles, so bring your own settings if you can. Also, the Demo zone near Victory Monument has a quieter corner with motion rigs, but it's pricier at around 400 baht per 30 minutes, so budget for longer sessions if you're serious.

there's also the place inside MBK Center, 4th floor near the food court, forgot the name but it's a small booth with two rigs and they run Assetto Corsa Competizione. it's nothing fancy, no motion or load cells, but it's like 150 baht for 30 mins and open till 10pm. good for just getting laps in if you're in the area and don't wana trek across town.

for actual FIA license practice though, you'd be better off joining the BKK Sim Racing discord, they organize practice sessions at a private studio near Phra Khanong. it's a shared space, maybe 8 people max, and they split the cost which comes out way cheaper than any cafe. the guy who runs it has a proper rig with a hydraulic brake pedal, which honestly feels closer to a real car than anything you'll find in a public place. just ask for the "sim sessions" channel and someone'll add you to the next slot.

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
