What are your favorite cafes to work from in Bangkok?

I'm looking for nice cafes where you can spend a few hours and work from. I'm based in the Bang Chak / Phra Khanong area but all recommendations are welcome I'm looking for nice cafes where you can spend a few hours and work from. I really like Root at W93 in Thonglor for working. It's a small spot with good cold brew and they don't mind you camping out for a few hours on a weekday. If you're in Phra Khanong, Roast at W District is reliable but gets loud after lunch, so go early.

honestly for bang chak area, check out the hidden room at nana coffee roasters on sukhumvit 62. it's a tiny shop run by a japanese guy and the pour-over's legit, plus there's like 4 seats max so it's never packed. for a more spacious option, gallery drip coffee on sukhumvit 63 has these big communal tables and the wifi's fast enough for zoom calls, just order a second drink if you stay past 2 hours

There's a place called Kaizen Coffee on Sukhumvit 71 that's pretty chill for working, they have a nice back room with big tables and the wifi hasn't let me down yet. Also if you're near On Nut, Rongsi Pochana is a bit more of a hidden spot with good food and not too many laptop people.

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
