But, my girlfriend told me it might rain, so look for an alternative instead. I found Scarlett Rooftop Bangkok, and they are both close to my place.

But now I cannot decide, cause it looks like the weather is gonna be OK. I know, first world problems 😅🤦

honestly if the weather's fine i'd stick with sirimahannop just for the experience. it's not every day you get to have dinner on a legit old school ship, and the river breeze at asiatique is nice at night. scarlett's view is great but the vibe is more like a hotel bar with a dress code, which can feel a bit stiff for an anniversary imo

scarlett does have a solid happy hour though, 5-7 pm i think, if you wanna do drinks there first then head over to asiatique after. the walk along the river from saphan taksin bts to the boat pier is nice when it's not raining

ngl i'd pick scarlett over sirimahannop for an anniversary. sirimahannop is cool for the ship novelty but the food is pretty average and it gets crowded with tourists. scarlett has better cocktails and the view from the 38th floor of centara grand is legit, you can see the river bend near saphan taksin. just book a table by the window side if u can, the indoor area feels a bit dark

scarlett's indoor section does feel like a hotel lobby but the outdoor terrace is where it's at, especially if you get one of those corner tables facing the river. sirimahannop's food is honestly not worth the hype, it's more about the boat setting than the meal itself. if you're set on asiatique area, maybe consider the rooftop at the avani riverside instead, it's called the rooftop bar and the view is way better than sirimahannop for similar money

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
