honestly if you want something less touristy, head to the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC) near Siam. The spiral walkways and big glass windows catch light really nicely, especially around 3-4pm when the sun hits the upper floors. also check out the rooftop garden at Jam Factory in Khlong San, it's got this industrial-meets-nature vibe that looks great in black and white.

If you want a completely different vibe, try the walkway along the Skytrain between Phrom Phong and Thong Lo. The aerial perspective gives you those long, clean lines of the city stretching into the distance, and the late afternoon light bounces off the glass towers in a way that's hard to find from street level. There's also a small park tucked behind the EmQuartier called Benchasiri Park, which has a reflective pond that frames the skyline well, especially just after a rain shower when the pavement's still wet.

For street photography, the area around Charoen Krung Road and Talad Noi is fantastic. You get a mix of old shophouses, street art, and the riverfront all within walking distance. Early morning around 7 or 8 AM is best for soft light and fewer crowds, especially near the historic Portuguese settlement. If you're into architecture, the interior of Wat Sutat has some incredible painted ceilings and long shadows in the afternoon.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
