How to get to Ko Kret from Sathorn Pier by Boat?

The online schedule says the green yellow ferry line only goes from Sathorn Pier to Pakkret in late afternoon and to Sathorn Pier from Pakkret early morning. Am I reading it wrong? How do I go to Ko Kret as a day trip by public ferry?

both replies are solid but another option if you're feeling adventurous is taking the blue flag tourist boat from sathorn up to bang phlu pier, it's a bit slower but runs more often and you get an audio guide about the river. from bang phlu it's a 10 minute walk to the klong boat pier that goes directly to ko kret, those local boats cost like 10 baht and come every 15 minutes or so. just check the blue flag schedule since they stop around 5pm instead of 6 like the orange boats, and the whole trip takes about an hour from sathorn depending on traffic.

yeah the green yellow line is basically a commuter route so timing's a pain for a day trip. what I'd do instead is take the orange flag express boat from Sathorn up to Wat Sanam Nua pier, that's the closest stop to Ko Kret on the main river. from there it's like a 5 minute walk to the cross-river ferry that takes you right over to the island for like 4 baht. the orange boats run every 20-30 mins so you can just show up whenever, no schedule stress. just keep in mind the last orange boat back south from Wat Sanam Nua is around 6pm so don't get stuck on the island after dark

honestly the green yellow ferry schedule is just for commuters so you're reading it right. you gotta take the regular Chao Phraya express boat to Nonthaburi pier then hop on a local khlong boat to Ko Kret from there. or just catch a taxi/van from the pier to Pak Kret market and take the short ferry across. way easier than trying to make the green yellow line work for a day trip.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
