Moving to Thailand are there any cool upcoming events?

Hi I'm (22F) moving to Bangkok in mid October and was wondering If there are some cool upcoming events (Like artist alleys, conventions, festival ect).

Or any areas that I should check out. :)

October's also when a lot of the universities have their open studios and student art shows. Silpakorn University near the Grand Palace does a big one around then, you'll see flyers posted around Wang Lang market. For a different scene, check out the Bangkok Comic Con dates, it's usually at Queen Sirikit Center and has artist booths alongside the cosplay stuff. If you're into night markets, the one at Jodd Fairs on Ratchada has a section with local illustrators selling prints and stickers, though it gets crowded past 8pm.

Since you're arriving in October, you might want to keep an eye on the calendar for the Bangkok International Film Festival. It usually happens around late October or November and screens everything from indie Thai films to international stuff at places like SF World Cinema at CentralWorld. Tickets are pretty reasonable, maybe 200-300 baht, and you can catch Q&A sessions with directors sometimes.

For a more low-key hangout, try the Artist's House on Klong Bang Luang on a Saturday afternoon. It's a 200-year-old wooden gallery by the canal where you can watch traditional puppet shows for free and buy small prints directly from the artists working there. The neighborhood around it has a few cafes and a weekend market with handmade ceramics and vintage clothes.

If you're looking for a proper night market with a creative crowd, skip the touristy ones and go to the Rot Fai Market at Srinakarin on a Thursday night. It's a bit far from central Bangkok but has a huge section of vintage furniture, vinyl records, and local designers selling their stuff alongside the usual food stalls. Just bring cash because some of the small booths don't take cards.

Mid October you're landing right around when the vegetarian festival kicks off, but the big one for your age group is probably the Bangkok Art Biennale if it's running. It's not a single event, it's installations and exhibitions scattered across places like the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre near Siam and sometimes even in old shopping malls. For a proper artist alley vibe, head to Charoenkrung Road around Talad Noi on a weekend, there are small galleries and street art tucked between the old shophouses. Warehouse 30 is a good starting point, it's a creative space with a cafe and rotating pop-ups.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
