Live music guide?

Does anybody know of a website that posts a weekly line-up of live music? Does anybody know of a website that posts a weekly line-up of live music?

soi 11 has a bunch of spots that fly under the radar, like the little reggae bar with the outdoor stage, they post their ska and dub sets on their own website only, no socials. also check the "bangkok live music calendar" on the website of the music store at fortune town, they list a ton of the cover band stuff at the big beer gardens and hotel lobbies that the indie guides ignore. honestly for the straight up rock and blues covers, the rooftop at the novotel on siam square updates their lineup every monday on their own page, and they always have three bands a night, so it's a safe bet if u just want to show up without planning.

You could skip the websites entirely and tune into the radio. Cat Radio on FM 95.5 runs a late night segment every Friday around 11 that previews the weekend's gigs across town, mostly the indie and underground spots in Thonglor and Ekkamai. It's in Thai mostly, but the venue names and times come through clear enough. For a more visual route, the Instagram account @bkkmusicmap reposts flyers from shows all over, including the ones that never hit Facebook, and they update their story highlights every evening with that night's sets. I've found a few one-off tribute nights and small venue shows that way that no calendar site had listed.

The Bangkok Gig Guide on Facebook is probably the closest thing to a weekly calendar that actually gets updated, it's run by a local photographer who goes to almost every show and posts the full week every Sunday night. For jazz specifically, the Thailand Jazz Society's website lists every hotel lounge and small club gig in the city, including the ones at the Marriott and the Sheraton that never make it onto event pages. One thing I'll add that most people miss, the smaller venues on Soi Nana and around Ari only post on their own Line groups, so if you find one band you like, ask them at the show for the group link, that's where the real last minute stuff lives.

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
