if you're out in the suburbs or non-tourist areas, look for little roadside shops that sell traditional thai medicine, they often have it in glass bottles with a plain white cap, no label at all. the ones near on nut bts or along sukhumvit soi 77 have it, just ask the auntie behind the counter for "kratom tom" or "nam kratom". fair warning though, the homemade stuff varies in strength a lot, some batches hit way harder than others so start slow

yeah its not really out in the open like energy drinks. the bottled stuff you see is usually the industrial version with preservatives, locals tend to buy it fresh from the leaf sellers in the morning markets. check the stalls near bang lamphu market around 6am-8am, they sell it in clear plastic bags tied with rubber bands for like 10 baht. also theres a guy on rambuttri road near soi 7 who sells it from a cooler after 9pm, no label just plain bottles with no branding. fyi the taste is super bitter so dont expect any sweetness unless they add a little salt

honestly just walk into any corner shop in the old town or near khao san and ask for "nam kratom" or "kratom yok" they usually keep it in the back fridge not on display. the bottled stuff is usually from ya ba or ya ice vendors but the real deal is just boiled leaves with a bit of sugar. try the stalls along pra athit road after dark, the ones with the big plastic jugs. expect it to be bitter and kinda earthy, not sweet at all

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
